In Which Donald Trump Doubles Down on “Lynching,” Then Launches Into a Bizarre Repetitive Demented Rant [VIDEO]

Politics • Views: 27,308

MP4 Video

You can practically see his mind skittering around like a cockroach in a hot skillet in this video clip, as he starts to answer a question about his latest racist remark (by doubling down on it, of course), then digresses into a wild disconnected rant about Ukraine, repeating himself over and over and over.

This is a picture of a con man panicking and saying anything to try to confuse the issue.

re: #297 lawhawk

Oh, you mean that isn’t the case and that there are serious gaps in Trump’s new DOJ theory to try and get Obama era officials charged? I’m shocked. Shocked. ///

To me, the most shocking thing here is the very fact that the Attorney General of the United States is - personally - conducting an “investigation” to try to try to pin criminal charges on government (law-enforcement/intelligence) officials NOT (apparently) because they are suspected of any actual wrongdoing, but because the Administration/President want to try to cover up or deflect attention away from their own wrongdoing. And “wrong” in this case, seemingly being defined as “insufficiently deferential to Donald Trump”.

I mean, we do have the comforting fact that, as usual, a Trump Admin crusade against its perceived enemies is more-than-likely to blow up in their faces, or prove precisely the opposite of what they are trying to “uncover”, but RLY: this is seriously Third-World-dictatorship crap. And of course, hugely underreported in the “MSM” .

There’s a whole lot of fence-sitters in law enforcement. Guys who are content to keep their heads down, do their jobs, punch the clock and wait to retire to a fishing cabin in Idaho.

Those guys just popped their heads up. Getting potentially tossed into prison - the absolute nightmare for every cop - for doing your job?

That will push a lot of people in the silent middle into getting into, “OK, this guy is a problem and he’s gotta go.”

At one of our large Army bases it was fairly routine for a badly-maintained mess hall oven to flame over when a couple pans of roast were going. The fire department SOP was to be sure to use only CO2 extinguishers, which leave no residue whatsoever. Then they would take the offending contents back to the firehouse for analysis.

Your strudel accident needs analysis.

This would be a FNND all by itself.

It’s a reminder that the House can define its impeachment inquiry as it sees fit, and the Democrats are following the rules in place since 2015 (undercutting the claim that they’re doing something in secret or playing games).

The media, however, continues to bury that detail - that Democrats are following the rules the GOP put in place in 2015 and now the GOP are busy caterwauling about how this is so unfair to them that they have to engage in nonstop bulkshit and SCIF stunts that damage national security in the process, because pounding on the table is insufficient for Trump. They have to gin up the outrage for Trump to be placated.

Here’s the thing… stop placating Trump. Do your fucking jobs and recognize that Trumpworld is corrupt and criminal to its very essence and every GOPer defending Trump are themselves complicit in the criminal conduct (especially that SCIF stunt).

No pulled quotes necessary, but it begins:

Thursday night, the New York Times reported that the investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe being conducted by U.S. Attorney John Durham, which was originally described as an “administrative review,” had become a criminal investigation. That comes on the heels of leaks indicating that the probe is focusing in on the role of the CIA and former director John Brennan.

At the Federalist, Margot Cleveland summarized the message to the world of right wing conspiracy theorists.

I’m in wheels-inside-of-wheels thinking mode today, so…

It’s obvious the Trump is going to challenge every single thing that the House asks for - transcripts, documents, testimony. Is it possible that Schiff and Pelosi have factored those challenges into their timetable, and are actually expecting to have this go on for a few more months - which would put the meat of the impeachment drama right in the middle of a presidential campaign?

Just spitballing.

Donald Trump Has a Big Problem in the Senate

As the White House struggles to build an anti-impeachment strategy, President Donald Trump turned this week to Lindsey Graham, his staunchest ally in the Senate, to try to stiffen Republican spines in that chamber. It’s not going the way the president must have hoped.

On Thursday, Graham announced that he’d put forward a resolution condemning the House impeachment inquiry. By mid-afternoon, when he actually announced it, the resolution had been watered down to a plea for a different and more transparent process, apparently a sop to GOP senators unwilling to go quite that far. And yet by Friday morning, only 44 of 53 Republicans in the Senate had signed on to the resolution. A gesture meant to be a show of solidarity by senators has instead become a sign of the weakness of the president’s position.

This resolution is such a long term terrible idea that I really kind of hope they manage to pass it without Pence breaking the tie. Assuming of course that he’s even allowed to break ties on such toothless “sense of the Senate” horse shit (he probably is.) President Obama Left Quite a Mark at the Funeral Service for Elijah Cummings || It just so happens he left it on another president.

WASHINGTON—There are quite a few people in this city who are adept at throwing shade. But there is no shade like Obama shade. Obama shade is deeper and cooler than the shade thrown by ordinary mortals. Under Obama shade, you could play hockey in the Mojave. On Friday, people said their final farewells to Rep. Elijah Cummings up in Baltimore. It was a lyrical, joyful service at which a number of people spoke.

re: #169 NO SMOCKING GUN!

Harvey Weinstein attended a young actors event. Surprisingly, it didn’t go well.

No, it didn’t:

Weinstein was later very publicly confronted at his table by 21-year-old actor Zoe Stuckless. “Nobody is going to say anything?” Stuckless screamed in a video taken by a friend before being escorted out. “Nobody is really going to say anything? I’ll get out of here, that’s fine, I am happy to leave, but nobody is going to say anything? I’m going to stand 4 feet from a fucking rapist, and no one is going to say anything?”

After Stuckless was ejected, 31-year-old comedian Amber Rollo also addressed Weinstein. “She’s right,” Rollo said she told Weinstein. “You’re a fucking monster. What are you doing out here? Fuck you.” She then says she was escorted out of the bar.

Alexandra Laliberte, the organizer of Actor’s Hour, explained to BuzzFeed News the reasoning behind allowing Weinstein to attend an event of the very sort he once specifically preyed on. “I welcome all walks of life into my space,” she said. “I protect them by freedom of speech.” The organization, however, later issued an apology via Facebook, saying it “apologize[s] wholeheartedly for the way the situation was handled.”

Except for those who hurt your guest-of-honor Weinstein’s fee-fees or makes you fucking uncomfortable by shaming you for letting the fucker into your event.

Fucking clueless hypocrite.

From the last day of last year:

Wielding Rocks and Knives, Arizonans Attack Self-Driving Cars

I thought this was very funny; up to a point. That point was reached here:

In one of the more harrowing episodes, a man waved a .22-caliber revolver at a Waymo vehicle and the emergency backup driver at the wheel. He told the police that he “despises” driverless cars, referring to the killing of a female pedestrian in March in nearby Tempe by a self-driving Uber car.

Sorry, doofus. If you’re willing to take the consequences, you may attack and threaten the soulless invention of Satan to your heart’s content. Do not, under any circumstances, do the same to an actual human though.

So, we got the notice from PG&E last night that they might turn our power off tomorrow night, and it may be off for a day or two.

Great.

Then, at ~3 AM, a dog a few houses away, down near the creek, started barking. For TWO FUCKING HOURS, that dog barked ever 4-5 seconds.

*WOOF!*
1…2…3…4…
*WOOF!*
1…2…3…
*WOOF!*
1…2…3…4…5..
*WOOF!*

FOR TWO FUCKING HOURS!!!! I couldn’t sleep because the regularity of the barking had me anticipating. Then I was wondering if it was our neighbor’s dog, and why he wasn’t in the house, instead of barking down in the creekbed, etc….

re: #73 sagehen

So if a “naive, uninformed” investor from, let’s say, Cyrpus or the Caymans (or at least that’s where their bank is located, hard to say who it might be) vastly overpays for this property, quickly, while Trump still has the ability to sign executive orders… and then next year they discover how they sadly misjudged the profitability of this hotel and their LLC goes bankrupt, and nobody even knows who the owners were so it goes to auction…

That would certainly put a lot of “untraceable” cash into the Trumps hands very quickly.

That’s part of the plot of “Billion Dollar Whale,” which is about how Malaysian scamster Jho Low managed to siphon off billions of dollars from the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) sovereign wealth fund. Low spent a lot of time laundering money through bank accounts, fake mutual funds, real estate and art purchases to make the money he stole look pristine. For the record, banks are supposed to ask (as part of Know Your Customer) about the origin of funds where it’s unclear what the base transaction was. Over and over again, banks failed.

And tlhis cuts across the Republicans desire to wrap this up quickly before the primary season so they could “put this thing behind them” after a vote of some kind.

It’s also a large part of the reason why they’re working so hard to portray the House impeachment inquiry as a “trial,” while Moscow Mitch has said that the actual Senate “trial” will consist of a 30 minute session followed by a vote. They want to portray this as a purely partisan matter, that the Senate vote is not one of acquittal but of rejection of an attempted “coup” by House Dems.

I had a cat who loved cold fridges. Loved crawling in them, loved being in them. I didn’t.

One time I was sick, I went down to get something out of the fridge to eat, went back upstairs, collapsed in my bed, then realized something’s missing. Keep in mind, this was not an immediate realization. I fell asleep and woke up with a start, because no kitty laying next to me on the bed. I struggled out of bed, went downstairs, opened the fridge, and sure enough, she was there. She didn’t want to leave.

After that, I had to make sure Xena was not in the fridge. I miss Xena.

The GOP wants to make impeachment all about everyone’s feelings. That will let the both-siderist shitweasels get to work.

But the facts don’t care about redcap feelings.

One thing is for sure — the GOP is pushing its reality hard enough that either it prevails and the US is governed by lies and illusions, or it fails hard, hopefully putting the GOP into a political wilderness for decades.

They’re only really falling back on that because they were getting nowhere portraying this as righteous Republicans standing by the duly-elected president against a “coup.” Leningrad Lindsey tried to lock the whole of the Senate Repub caucus into opposition against removing Trump from office…only to find that not everybody was willing to sign onto a suicide pact. So he had to settle for a “We don’t like the way they’re running things over there” non-binding resolution.
